That tag would have been on the original owner warranty card. Look on the upper rad tie bar and see if your tag is still there

take out a bolt that holds the fender on, or door hinge bolt.
Somewhere on your car you will find the original color.
You should also find the original color by taking an interior panel off too. most likely a back side panel, or the one under the dash at the door/ rocker area.

2U is the paint code, so assuming Dan gave accurate info for the paint, that is correct...

That metal plate is from the warranty card... Glue dries out, they fall off...

BD is the interior trim code(color and style), 03L(Nov 3) is the "scheduled" build date(doesn't mean it was actually built on that day, but will be close)... Last two are transmission and rear axle code, unfortunately I don't have any info to decode that for the '83s...

i primed it and rattle can blacked it for now, just to keep it safe, because the car wont be fully painted til about june.

That's too bad. It looked pretty good in the picture. Well, the ex antenna hole looked good anyway. It does look messed up along the door opening, but not bad enough to replace? Either way, try a "Wanted" ad and see what you can find. Good luck!
