My Cat:Before March 22, 2005, 08:52:37 AM (In best 80's sci-fi movie intro voice)Wrecked in December of 1999, totaled by insurance, bought back from insurance and then locked away in storage. Then one day in January of '05, a small sum of money is given to the owner (me) to bring the old girl out of storage and start the path to restoration. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the Cougar lives again!I went to the storage unit with a new battery in one hand, and a bottle of Sea Foam. Ten minutes later the old girl was purring like a kitten.....high on crank. Anyway, loaded her on the trailer and brought the car home. So far, I've replaced the front rotors, caliper slider pins, brake pads, lines and fluid, oil, radiator hoses, coolant, and fuel filter. Runs like a dream. Can't believe how much I missed that car until I was back behind the wheel again. Word of advice, if you store a car for that long and forget to license it for four years, bend over and take it like a man. :moon: Quote Selected

Up here we pay ahead of time for the registraion. If it's unregistered for say 5 years you just pay the standard fee to renew it for the next two years from the date you re-register it. Re: My Cat:Before Reply #2 – March 22, 2005, 09:12:21 AM Oh yeah, it's even more if you don't turn in your old plates. Honestly though, it was worth it to drive the red raider again. It's only $20 a year now to license it, which is a far sight less than my wife's new taurus. Quote Selected
Re: My Cat:Before Reply #3 – March 22, 2005, 09:16:20 AM What's really sad, is last time I put gas in the car it was 99 cents a gallon! A tank that cost $22 to fill now cost $47. Quote Selected

Re: My Cat:Before Reply #7 – March 22, 2005, 02:32:35 PM My gas bill consistantly runs $500/month for my 4.0L Ranger and the wifes 3.8L Mustang. BTW I'm glad to see you're getting your cat back on the road. I didn't mean to hi-jack. EDIT: plus $180 to register for one year. Let's see Ranger, Mustang, T-bird, sunbird, thats 4 x 180.00 = $720.00/year Quote Selected
