Star Wars on a Wurlitzer Pipe Organ

For those of you who have never seen a full size pipe organ rise out of the floor--this is something to watch (U tube). I am, myself, not that old, but this stuff was not uncommon over 50-60 years ago in this country (until many classic American Theatres bit the dust in big cities). The last minute of this film is the best. Hope you have good headphones, it's worth hearing. Enjoy!

It was made 10 min away from my house.
the Wurlitzer Building is now a bunch of stores and warehouses, now called Wurlitzer Park

I believe Wurlitzer is still around according to the web. Yeah, these larger Wurlitzers were called "Mighty." They were designed to be a one man orchestra in a theatre. Their air powered horns and resonance could vibrate a building I'm told. It's great that the power of the web through U Tube could bring that experience back to the present. The organ on the link is located at the Sanfilippo Victorian Palace in Barrington Hills, Illinois---a suburb of Chicago. The place is a museum of sorts. It's within my driving range-- funny enough. I thought the name put it in California somewhere!
