Yes, that is true. It bolts up just fine. You will want to cap off the vents though. Unless you plan on using them for turbo/some kind of ram air setup.

I wanted to purchase TC hood, but was told that it would be non functional... I know someone has made a mod to make it functional, but is it even worth it...

Mines functional. It feeds the intercooler...
It's Gumby's fault.

I don't think any aftermarket or stock scooped hood would be functional on a 5.0 or 3.8 without some creative induction work.
It's worth it if you think it is ;)

I was thinkin about getting one also but do you think I can reroute it to feed my intercooler or do you think that it would be easier, better and cheaper to just buy an intercooler fan or two?

hold up, of course its functional on a t/c.. im talkin abount making it functional on a non t/c v8.  i was just thinking that it would be pretty tight forming the duct work and then routing it on a 5.0 that is the part im wondering about.  An electric fan would probaly better easier in my opinion, but thats all it is - an opinion -

Once I get my TC hood, im gonna fab up a ram air. I have a cfi Cougar, which with the round style intake, should be alittle easier to make one, I'll do my dest to make it work.

The efi would have to use an intake like the cervini Stang hood. With the cfi Im just gonna run an "air box" over the distributor to the air cleaner, kinda like a Challenger or Cuda would have with the six pack, a plastic box like thing.  Im not so sure how to approach it yet, but we'll see.

Don't bother using the TC hood scoops for anything, they hardly do anything even on a TC, at lower speeds they actually flow air the WRONG way.  There is hardly anything to be gained with ram air anyway, compared to a normal cold air induction, at least at sane highway speeds.  The TC hood scoops are just a bad design, if you have a front mount IC you're better off with an extra fan running all the time.
