It has small clips and just pushes into place. Usually there is some silicon or weak glue to keep it from just popping out.

They are usually pretty brittle now, you need to be really careful if you mess with it or it may crack. If you wanted to do it on a bench instead of on the car, you can pull back the trim and loosen about 6 bolts and undo the light plugs and remove the whole assembly.

Basically, carefully wiggle it out, making sure to pull evenly and take your time.
