I have 235/60/15 Mastercraft Avenger G/T's on my 87 XR7 Cougar and they are excellent tires. Great tall tread, hard compound, and they look great.

I really like the 10 hole rims. Easy to get used off of mustang guys and tires can be as much as 50% cheaper.

I also ran 235/60's up front, and if I bought tires again, I'd probably stay with them all around. The 275/60's fit good, but rubbed slightly when I have a bunch of weight in the trunk, which I do quite regularly.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
