28x10.5 fits easily on mine. May be able to go bigger with some fender lip massaging and the correct wheel backspacing.
TC#1- 2.5T- 10.14@134....9.76@138 with a 50shot
TC#2- Turbo BBF project

X2, my bone stock 86 has 275/60's which equate to a 28x10.8" tire. It rubs slightly with weight in the trunk over rail road tracks.

A 26" tire should fit fine and never rub, but if its track only and you want the lower ratio of a 28" tire, go for it.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

What wheel and backspacing are both of you using?

What ever is on a stock 10 hole mustang rim. Also, 87-88's seem to have alot more room. The 275/60's will not fit up front, they rub on the strut.

Square tube steel of what ever size and thickness you desire. We have a virtually flat floor pan compared to mustangs as well as a longer wheelbase.

There is a slight offset between the front and rear frame rails, but it will work fine. Damiac has some jacking rails he made up for his car and drew up plans somewhere. Our seat brackets are also a slightly different width then the mustangs if you choose to integrate seat mounts.

Basically measure, cut and weld. No special bends or anything required. Just the cost of raw materials.
