Need some opinions July 19, 2013, 07:18:03 PM I'm coming to the end of my 67' Mustang project and am starting to look for a new project car I can work on. I'm kinda torn between old & slightly newer. I'm looking at either a Mid to late 60's Torino, Fairlane, or Galaxie with a Fe 390/352 of course. Or a 97-98 mark Viii with the 4.6. Plans for the big block would be Intake, Exhaust, and Heads then when funds would allow Slap a 6-71 blower on it :burnout: and have some fun. Plans would be similar for the Mark Exhaust/Heads/Intake then probably buy a vortech or paxton supercharger. Only difference is that I'd probably be getting 10-15 mpg with the Big Block and mid 20's with the 4.6 probably pushing similar amounts of horsepower.Either car I could probably get in the 3-4k $ region but the Fairlane or Torino would apreciate in value compared to the Mark that seems to have depreciated quite a bit in my opinion. What would you guys go with and why? Need some opinions Reply #2 – July 19, 2013, 08:38:56 PM I think building a 427 would make me very sad trying to compete with all the shelby cobra guys for parts. Quote Selected
Need some opinions Reply #3 – July 19, 2013, 10:17:03 PM Build the old back to oem original, that would occupy your time and pay off better in the long run. Quote Selected
Need some opinions Reply #4 – July 19, 2013, 11:55:35 PM If you built the 427 via a stroker 351W then you would not compete for parts....lighter, rev quicker, and cost waaay less. A Tremec six speed magnum backing it up to a 9" with some 3.55 cogs would be super sweet! Maybe some vintage air, nice tunes, and wheels man, don't forget the wheels as they make the ride.Darren Quote Selected

Need some opinions Reply #9 – July 20, 2013, 10:02:43 PM Yes I love it aswell haha. That clean look is what I'd go for, except with a nice blower sticking out the hood and a bright orange/yellow sticker that said "STUDENT DRIVER" on the bottom tail light panel just for laughs Kinda like this one i photo shopped real quick. 2 tone paint, some nice torque thrust looking wheels, just a nice cruiser Quote Selected
