ford stamp on upper radiator support

I have never ever noticed such a stamp as what i found here on my son's 88bird sport.
has anyone else noticed this?
its next to the pass side radiator support.

we filled it with blue paint so it stands out.

thoughts anyone?

There is also one on the underside of the trunk lid

My Thunderbird has both of those marks. It's a factory stamping mark.

Hmm that's odd. I know that my Thunderbird has that stamp under the trunk lid. I'll have to double check the core support. Perhaps it's a Thunderbird only thing? That would make sense for the trunk lid but not the core support though.

Mine has it stamped on the inside of the deck lid, but not on the core support.

cougars were the mercury line,
tbirds were the ford line

i wonder if there is a parts marking separation?
