You Bet but when an old FART like me drives it the young guys thing it is a slammed BLAZER. They pay no attention to it because they do not know what it is. Cops stop me some times to look at it (HONEST). They do not realize it has tuns of PONIES. They are shocked when i hammer it and it is GONE!!!!!!!!!!! I love that truck to DEATH.

Thanks STANG8U

Hay your post name bugged me and JR explained what it means. That is COOL!!! Like i said i am an OLD . I guess TEXTING is why i did not understand it. I do not TEXT!!!

I miss my 81 El Camino, was my first car. When I got it the floor boards were gone and a paper clip was jammed in the fuse box which had something to do with the headlights. My dad wasn't going to buy me floor pans so I hammered them out of a ford truck hood. I found a malibu for 100 bux that I robbed all the wiring out of to fix the crazy paper clip solution whoever did before me. If I'd kept this car it would probably of gotten an LS in it and something with over drive. Traded it off for a motor and trans for a girlfriends car :(.

88 Turbocoupe: Coast High Performance 331 kit 28oz balance, Comp XE264HR14 cam, 58cc 185 afr heads, 1.7 roller rockers, Mass-Flo EFI (was POS to setup and their techline is a joke at best)
Full 1 5/8 primary equal length headers, 2 1/2 exhaust, Full manual reverse VB c4 and baked off clear coat "BECAUSE RACECAR"

:bowdown:SWEEEEET Cabby Kitty there, ZondaC.

Thanks! :) It was my dad's became mine when he died 8 years ago. And I will *never* have to miss it. If there is a situation that would "force me to sell" the car, then I need to find an actual way out, or better yet don't get there in the first place. Selling a $3000 car is no path to continued steady financial problem solving.
1987 20th Anniversary Cougar, 302 "5.0" GT-40 heads (F3ZE '93 Cobra) and TMoss Ported H.O. intake, H.O. camshaft

Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...

Getting OLD SUCKS BIG TIME!!!

Yes, getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative. You only have two choices here, you either get old or you don't...

Cool Typhoon. Always loved those and the Syclones...

I Know Thunder. But my oldest is having a baby next month. Our first grand child. I really dont care if it is a boy or girl as long as it is healthy. WOW another  mechanics in the family. This is very exciting. I saw a sonogram of the baby yesterday. Me and my wife are so proud!!! So i guess getting old has it"t good points.

What did you think of the  super coupe as compared to the turbo coupe?

Speed is just a question of MONEY How fast can you go?    (M. M.)

Not much difference, both engines blow head gaskets at the same rate. But the Super Coupe has 2 that takes more time to change!!!

Tom

As a man that has owned 3 SC and 3 turbofords.....mine dont seem to blow the headgaskets equally... only every blow a HG in my 86XR7 back in 2003 running 20psi on pump gas beating a mustang... my fault

From everything I have every read on a computer, the SC blows more headgaskets...  to be fair all my SC where stock....and only my first TC was.  I have put 30k on my current DD  88TC with gillis, 3" and 16psi.  Nice running car.

I was just messing around Travis. But i have changed many a head gasket on the 3.8 fords. As the matter of fact the 3.8 had a head Gasket UP DATE because of it. just saying. Either way i really like both of those cars very much. Ford did a great job on both of them. The IRS in the SC is bad ass. Both those cars are real good keepers. They are truely a marvel of engineering back when they were made.

I remember reading about the upgraded HG on the SC....

I personally have used the felpro 1035 vs 8993...but that is just me...I also overtorque by 10% on the 2.3T...
