Hypertech 891017 chip 5.0

Got this back when I had my 5.0 sport in antition for doing MAF conversion. Obviously things didnt work out for the old girl, rust got to far advanced. Well my TC is keeping its 2.3T motor, so this needs to go. Never got the chance to use it myself, so I cant say how much of a difference it makes. Not really sure what its worth now a days, but Im not gonna try getting what I paid for it (back then I probably over paid, dang ebay!!) LOL . Im gonna ask for $50 shipped OBO, Id also be willing to trade for parts that I could use for my TC be it stock - aftermarket - performance pieces. Im really open for offers!

I can't seem to find much info online on the chip. Do you know what changing it out would entail and what the projected hp gain would be for a 1988 5.0?

Well first of all has your car had a Mass Air conversion done on it?  Mass air factory didnt start til 89 unless it was a Cali car, then some  88's got it. Installation of it is you just plug it into the service  port on the back side of your computer. As for projected HP gain that Im  un-sure of, I never got to run it myself and I bought it used. The guy I  bought it from did say it made a difference though.

No, I just bought the car and I'm working on it all winter in my garage. I thought a chip upgrade might be a good idea if it picked up a few hp without making any major changes. I read a little about the need to do a mass air conversion to get any real good out of chip change our much of anything else which I was unaware of. I'm not ready for that at this point. Maybe down the road though. Thanks for the info.
