Good God someone talk me out of this.....

http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/cto/2634604413.html

I'm going to call and see if he'll send me more and better pictures. If  it's a rust-free straight body, it's a better deal than the silver one  was! Tr-3550s are apparently good to 400-425 lb-ft of torque. Probably actually shifts right too and doesnt need to be double-clutched for every up or downshift except 3rd-4th gear (yea I'm not kidding LOL)

Should be at least mid 12's right? 3:73s and an aluminum-headed 10:1 motor? I've got an interview Friday at a booming nanotech firm around here. Neighbor of mine thinks he can give me a special advantage. If that goes well I'm buying it. No. Screw that. I'm buying it anyway.
1987 20th Anniversary Cougar, 302 "5.0" GT-40 heads (F3ZE '93 Cobra) and TMoss Ported H.O. intake, H.O. camshaft
2.5" Duals, no cats, Flowmaster 40s, Richmond 3.73s w/ Trac-Lok, maxed out Baumann shift kit, 3000 RPM Dirty Dog non-lock TC
Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...
1988 Black XR7 Trick Flow top end, Tremec 3550
1988 Black XR7 Procharger P600B intercooled, Edelbrock Performer non-RPM heads, GT40 intake AOD, 13 PSI @5000 RPM. 93 octane

That sounds similar to toms tc the way its setup, except he has an auto. How long have the parts been on the car, and what kind of wear. If its a lower mileage car, it could get that asking price stock.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

nice car, not a cat fan anymore but the list of drivetrain goodies makes it sound like fun car.. the cam is a bit small for my liking with that amount of compression and those heads, but that's just me lol

HAHAHA YES Jerry would never let me down or anyone else for that matter. Awesome attitude. Aint it the truth though. The black I like a lot better than silver (black was the original color of mine....engine bay was left alone. I wanted to get it back to that color) and frankly.....I let a former "friend" drive it last year and, well, an angry fencepost slid into it and messed up the rear pass quarter. The "friend" took a dent-puller with a large wood screw on the end and turned it from being legitimately CAVED IN to just wrinkled like a balled-up t-shirt, aaaand with five 3/8" holes in it. And the plastic trim was left behind. And his stupid buddy climbed on the roof when he said "we'll strap you to the roof" and now that has a couple nice big dips in it. BUT IT'S STILL fast! LOL

(I don't have ADD or any issues at all, surely you can observe this!!!???)

Well he was a friend until I loaned him some money and he didn't pay back. The one thing I am thankful for is that in the mess I got the crown vic back, just given back. Sold that to him then he seized the motor. Cyl 6 had 30 psi compression. I was really stupid for giving this kid cash. But I trusted in him and thought he was more mature than he is. You live and learn to better sniff out the fires and liars.

Don't lend friends money. It's just a bad idea.

Hey....someone has to be the voice of reason and sensibility. Kudos to you for being a down to earth person with more restraint and will power than I. LOL

Well at least you're not trying to buy a Mark VII. I have a crazy idea that I want one, air suspension and all. I have no where to put another car except in the driveway, which makes complete sense when me and my girlfriend already park there. So yeah it makes perfect sense to pick one up when I have no space to store it for the winter and no time to drive it since it'll be snowing in two months......my girlfriend questions the logic of two "toy" cars. I have no idea why she thinks I have problems.....:rollin:.

Wow I coulda sworn that said October 5th as the posting date. Maybe it was September 5th lol. I never took down the phone number, guess I'll see if he re-lists it :rollin: Maybe someone saved me from myself!

There's a decent black mark a stones throw away from me, with ground effects and the turbine style wheels. Square exhaust tips through the back bumper add-on. Guy that owns the small sunoco service shop just outside my neighborhood owns it and has it for sale. Of course that has be all googley eyed every day I pass it too LOL
