So far so good with it for me. I have only gone about 8 miles so far with it though.Tomorrow the Sport goes in for a/c work,and I'm sure they'll be running the engine so we'll see what happens. It does seem to blow a lot of air,and I think it'll work out just fine. If not,I'll just swap on another Taurus fan. I'll probably start grabbing them again as i find them.I had about 8 of them for a while.Now,they are all gone.Every time I want to go to the boneyard,it seems like something ha been getting in the way.Maybe later this week.

Well,the Sport is with the A/C guys.I have no idea when they'll be done. They are going to rebuild the two lines I had that were used.Hopefully good things will come of it.After 12 years with no a/c, My hopes are high,but expectations are low.

A flex fan should never really be used except as a quick fix in a pinch. They are not the safest things (they have been known to come apart), and they do a poor job at cooling. If an engine driven fan is what you want, you cannot go wrong with a good clutch driven 6 or 7 bladed fan. Get a good clutch though, the type with the spring on the outside so they are temperature and speed controlled.

The Flex-a-lite 1518 has cooled my high compression/supercharged 347 very well over the last 4 years.

On long trips,I'll start packing the factory fan. It has a new clutch on it.The Sport doesn't really do much long distance traveling,though. I hope to have the Sport back tomorrow.I will or I won't I suppose. I hate other people working on it,and I hat it being away from home.Only during paint has it been in the hands of someone else since I've had it. Very uncomfortable.

But a good clutch fan would do so with less noise and would take less horsepower.

I'm still sticking with an electric fan unless there's some kind of failure and I need the factory unit to get by on until I replace the broken fan. The electric fan keeps the Sport cool in any temp around here,even when we spent an hour in a parade barely moving in the hottest part of summer.

A good electric fan is a great thing! On my 442 project I am running a Mark VIII electric fan in a custom shroud and while I have not yet driven the thing, I expect it to keep the 600hp beast nice and cool.

My Taurus fan was great....til it died,but,it was 15 years old,so,I can't complain.I may grab another one eventually.

Well,I went to pick up the Sport,and it's AWESOME to have a/c after 12 years of none at all in my cars (the wife always has full options in her cars,and they all have to work perfectly).It feels different than having a/c in the Nisan.I've always been used to just sweating it out....literally.The work looks great. He custom made two lines and they look great as well.Pics coming soon.....probably Friday after I clean everything up.

So what are the vent temperatures on what degree day? If it's still using the r12 cutoff switch setting (stock), there's much to be gained by adjusting it to like 20-22psi. It may not do much now if it's overcharged a little but when some leaks out, the cooling will be a few degrees better at all times than with the stock cutout (26psi?)

It's the 134R stuff. It's been fully converted,blows really cold.I'm not sure of the temps.I have a thermometer somewhere.I'll find out sometime.I'm really happy with it so far (all of the 6 miles I've driven...LOL).Once the windows are tinted,and the sound deadener/insulation installed,it'll all work together very well I believe.....I hope......I think.

For right now,the next project is cleaning the engine bay and giving the car a clay bar treatment and a good waxing. She spent two and 3/4 days away from home and deserves a little lovin'.It was stressful on her.

You're not by any chance using an HR-980 compressor are you?
