Latest Addition to the Ford Family: A new Fusion!

I've been tempted to get one of those.  The thing that would be a must is that it would be black with the grille painted black, and it not be the 4 cylinder.  Unless they are rated for alot more power than I think they are.  I have a 97 taurus with the ohv 3.0 and its gutless and cant get out of its own way.

88 t-bird tc - 14.97 @ 90  IHI 18 psi + k+n filter...so far - NOW HX-35 @25psi - 12.75@112    348rwhp/395rwtq
78 F-150 - 11.61@120 on 175shot N20 - 12.55@110 on motor - 5200# race weight:hick:

Get a Fusion man! It's a great car. If you are concerned about power then go for the 6 cyl. You will be very happy with the power of the V6. We got a 4 cyl. and while it is great on gas, it could use a little more umph. However the 4-cyl is rated at 175 HP. My girl is a conservative driver and does not care all that much about how much power it has compared to the safety benefit of just having a larger car with power options again. I am sort of used to 4 cyl. cars since my last car was a Cavalier 2.2 and the car we just traded was a Yaris 4-cyl. Actually the Yaris had pretty good power for a small car with a 4 cyl. But then again it was a very light car. The Fusion is bigger than the Tbird. I drove the Fusion quite a bit the last couple days off I had and the power is satisfactory for a 4-cyl. However if it were my choice I would have gotten the 6.

The grille issue is a simple fix. I would not be as concerned about what can easily be changed. You can always rough up the chrome grille and paint it black or opt to buy a Fusion grille already black and sell the chrome one on eBay or something. It's likely there is someone out there with a Fusion Sport that would like to have a chrome grille instead of a black one simplu because that person might like the bling. It's possible you could even do a trade. Find a Fusion forum like we have here and I am sure someone might turn up wanting a chrome grille to trade for a black one.

I rented a Fusion in January for a week and was very impressed.  It got an average of 33 mpg and had a ton of power.  I was very surprised when I lifted the hood and saw it was a four; thought it had so much power it had to be a six.

Very nice looking new car but 50tbrd88 got you beat with the pretty lady next to his.

Hey thanks...I've got a hot lady with a hot car.  I am a lucky guy!!  Now if I could just get her to think my T-bird is cool.  She's not a fan of it at all.

My folks got a blue monochrome '10 Fusion last fall. They love it. It's comfy for even me, and fuel economy has been very good. Extremely well-built vehicle. It has the Moon 'n Tune package with power moonroof, SYNC and unique 18" wheels.

Really  me off that my folks have a car with bigger tires than either of my cars.

Nice looking Fusion.  Seems like you don't see too many that color.  On a side note, what is with the 70s model Firebird/TA nose I see poking out of the garage??

That's weird, because I see a ton of Fusions in the color (2010 and previous versions). But I've seen only one other '10 in that blue with the monochrome grille like my folks have. Their particular car was fresh into the dealer and we demoed it about an hour after it rolled off the truck. The next day, my folks went to decide on color and features...they came home with the car they demoed. There was a red monochrome at the dealer at that time but we haven't seen it around. Dad loved the chrome grille on the '10 and WAS really looking forward to having that...then they end up with the seemingly uncommon monochrome version. Go figure. ;)

The Firebird is my brother's 1973 Trans Am that he's restoring. It's been almost 20 years in the making. Trust me...you don't want to know.

I noticed the wheel size compared to my old Tbird parked right net to it... It's like looking down and noticing your pecker is too small! LOL!

Really though the Fusion dwarfs the Tbird and I would have never thought it would until I seen it parked in the driveway next to the Bird. It has a lot to do with the high hood and roofline on the Fusion, not to mention the gigantic rear end.
