The coupe now runs! UPDATED

Finally got this thing to idle right, so I thought I'd shoot a vid of it. Far from complete, but it runs and drives. I've been busting my ass the past week to get it inspected legally. Just need some good tires and an alignment now.

Congrats on getting it running!  That little car should move right out with the 351 and big cam.  What gears are you running and do you have posi in it yet?

What was the problem with the idle and how did you fix it?

I used to have an 81 Hatchback with the same color orange.  It was a straight six car and very gutless.  The body just kind of fell apart but that engine just kept on running.

it has a 8.8 from a GT. Gears I guess are 3.08's, but I have 3.55's I'll be swapping in.

the idle issue was the throttle cable length. I had to make the ball stud it snaps onto "adjustable". Plus, the thing had 65 primary jets and 87 jets in the back. It would just flood out if I got into the secondaries. I put in 72's in place of the 87's and replaced the power valve plug with a 6.5HG valve.

a cam swap is in order to to the current cam being too big for the stock rockers. That's why you hear the tapping in the video. I'll be getting this cam from Summit real soon:

I was going to say.  Man your valve train sounds clicky.  Good deal on the inspection.  I am still trying to get my cat inspectorated.
My car is a gravity hybrid.  The gasoline engine gets me up the hills, and gravity gets me down.
