Lower Intake Bolts?

I ordered a set of stainless lower intake bolts from Summit and none of them are studs.  Before I ordered them from Summit, the salesman told me that this bolt kit would fit 302's all the way up to the 95 model year.  When he told me that, I thought the kit would include 4 studs like the engine came with.

Do some of them have to be studs for them to work?  I thought the studs were for the wire looms to connect to and that the studs also secure the heater pipe that runs across the top of the lower intake.  I'm not sure about this though.

Thanks for any help with this guys.  I just want to make sure the ones they sent will work.

There is a weird bracket on the back of the intake. I'm not sure what its for and I always toss it. I also remember there being one for the waterpipe like you said and one for the ac compressor bracket.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Hmmm..  I wonder if I can fit the tabs for those brackets under the heads of the bolts in question if I use two washers.  One under the tabs and one on top of the tabs.  I don't like that idea though, because that would decrease the number of threads that are engaging the head.  Doing it that way would also probably screw up the torque on those bolts.  :punchballs:

I'm pretty sure that using the bolts with out the studs to hold up the accessory brackets would screw with the torque settings. Can you get the bolts you need from a junk yard near you?

Unfortunately, I think I'm gonna have no other choice but to hit the boneyard.  I don't want to take any chances with the Blackbird.  Everything has to be done the right way.

just buy a rod of all-thread and make your own, you just need a grinder and some nuts and your all set. I made mine this way, plus the water pump studs.

I have all the bolts and studs in now and know what goes on each stud except for the stud that's in the passenger side front corner of the lower intake.
Anyone know what's supposed to go on that stud?

A metal rod bracket for the AC, don't have one on mine... Goes from the AC bracket(can see the empty hole in my sig link photo), to the intake stud...
