To change from an buttstuffog to a digital fuel gauge you have to change the sending unit in the tank. Otherwise your gauge will work backwards.
buttstuffog sender- 60 to 86 ohms empty--8 to 12 ohms full.
Digital sender- 9 to 12 ohms empty--154 to 161 ohms full.

the autometer ones say they are programable, 0 ohm empty, 280ohm full, id say either you'd need the stock didgital one, or call up summit and see if the electronic sender is with the gauge *usually is*

If memory serves me right you need one that reads 73 ohms empty / 10 ohms full with the factory sender.

If your dead set on using a programmable unit then as long as you have a working sending unit already in the fuel tank leave it. The programmable fuel gauge (autometer unit anyway) can be adjusted between 0 and 270 ohms. I used buttstuffog gauges (especially fuel) because of the cost savings.
