Bearing Press/Install Question

For starters~
I do not have a shop press, Or access to one.

After finding out it would cost 27.50 (per bearing) at the local machine shop just to PRESS ON a supplied pinion bearing...
I'm trying to find or think of an alternative i might be able to do at home to install this sucker.

Any ideas?
I'll be installing a brand new bearing so i really don't want to mess it up.

I was thinking maybe a reversal of the removal method (With a bearing puller tool) might could work?

Freeze the shaft, heat the bearing, should almost fall on. Have a piece of pipe that fits the bearing and a hammer to knock it on.

I have almost the same procedure as Kitz.  Except I cut the  old bearing inner race with a hacksaw and then use it to absorb the beating from the pipe while pushing the new one on.  Don't forget your pinion shims!
