BTW, I had a 1988 T-Bird Sport way back when. I found out that it was totalled shortly after trading it in. It still has the ignition switch recall to date.

Is the headlight switch w/ or w/o auto lamp? The same goes with the fog lamp switch.

The auto lamps,head light switch,and fog light switches are all separate switches.The headlamp switch with swap into a car with or without auto lamps.Same with the fog light switch..

I see that. I am planning ahead as the XR7 that I am looking into has a charging problem and is a prime candidate for this mod.

I did the 3G upgrade about 3 years ago or so.Still using the same alternator,and it was one of the best upgrades I could do.Now,in the winter time,headlights on,heater,radio,defroster and fog lights,no charging issues at all.

How hard it the swap to a 3G?? I know I can research it but am wondering from those who have done it... I am interested in your last one..

It took me about an hour to swap mine.I had to cut a small notch in my alternator bracket (took about 2 minutes with the trusty Dremmel),a hacksaw would work.Then the wiring,which is also pretty easy if you just follow the instructions posted elsewhere here.
