My new Daily Driver...(Body shop pics added) Reply #18 – July 09, 2009, 06:00:41 PM My 86 cougar would keep up with my freinds sisters 94 4.6. Hers would pull harder up top, but mine would walk away from it from a stop. By 60 mph I was always ahead of her by a couple of car lengths. Hers had less then 80,000 miles on it and the gray 86 had over 120,000. Quote Selected

My new Daily Driver...(Body shop pics added) Reply #21 – July 09, 2009, 10:12:07 PM Ok guys it broke, already... Man, what is it with my luck and cars lately. It was broke when I bought it weather the previous owner knew or not I dont know, dont care... Look at the engine pic, just to the left of the alternator... see the antifreeze seeping? yep... the intake is cracked... I tried to make due with JB weld, but it started really leaking from the T-stat area, which was just changed by the previous owner.... so I ordered the repair kit for it... $650!!! Happy farcking birfday to me, near the price I paid for the whole car.I have never touched a 4.6L before so hopefully the intake swap goes off without too much problems.... Quote Selected

Adds, power, durability and is cheaper... why not? Quote Selected
My new Daily Driver...(Body shop pics added) Reply #25 – July 10, 2009, 12:37:56 PM Did you check the salvage yards by you for a PI intake? I know the revised intake uses a cast alumimum coolant crossover. Quote Selected
My new Daily Driver...(Body shop pics added) Reply #26 – July 10, 2009, 01:06:22 PM Do the PI swap. Also, I believe these were recalled for the cracked crossover tube, you may be able to get it fixed for free. Quote Selected
My new Daily Driver...(Body shop pics added) Reply #27 – July 10, 2009, 02:36:27 PM I swapped my manifold over to the updated piece with the aluminum crossover; it was very simple. Based on your technical skills, you should be able to knock it out in one afternoon with no problems. I love my MN12. It may not be the fastest thing on the street, but it would outrun my old '88 XR7 5.0 any day of the week. You should dechrome the taillights and smoke 'em down with Niteshades. Also, make sure you switch to Mercon V and install a tranny cooler - it will greatly extend the lift of the 4R70W. In addition, if you have a sloppy 1-2 or 2-3 shift, you should definitely replace the shift accumulator pistons to the updated pieces. You can also leave out the bottom spring(s) to make firmer shifts.I did exactly that 50,000 miles ago and the car chirps the tires when it shifts during WOT runs.I may have some cool MN12 parts laying around that would look great on that car. I'll go through my stash and let you know. Quote Selected
My new Daily Driver...(Body shop pics added) Reply #28 – July 10, 2009, 02:39:48 PM cool thanks for the tips, cragar, will do... I plan to dechromw everything and tint the tails, but that VHT niteshades is hard to find up here... I tried the salvage yards around here and nobody has anything, so I ordered a brand new intake for a 2001 Mustang GT (PI) and will be swapping that on this afternoon... Quote Selected
My new Daily Driver...(Body shop pics added) Reply #29 – July 10, 2009, 02:48:53 PM Will the PI intake bolt onto the non-PI heads? I'd always thought they had to be done as a set, but of course I'm no modular expert... Quote Selected
