New mats

Auto Custom Carpets made these for me. They were the only ones I could find who licensed the feathered bird logo:

I had looked into Lloyd mats, but they only use the 2002-2005 script Thunderbird logo. This would have been okay, but they can't put it on an '87 T-Bird mat (it won't fit and they're not licensed to put it on anything other than a 2002-2005 mat). Making matters worse, their 2002-2005 mat is WAY too wide for an '87 (I had them send me the outline schematic so I could measure it). So this was the only option. Nonetheless, they're quite nice. These use the Esshag material, in 1045A Maroon, with silver-thread logo. The Esshag material is EXTREMELY dense.

That said, I went with the top-end Esshag material, which adds significantly to the cost. They have several other materials available which would lower it by quite a bit.

What color are those? do they match the earlier red interiors or are they a better match for the 87-88 cars. I'm having a heck of a time matching the 85 red so far with anything from visors to carpet stuff. (It's darker) I need a nice set of mats for it though.

These are probably a better match for the earlier ones. Now that I've put them in the car I sort of wish I had gotten the lighter red. It's hard to tell color shades from a web photo. I might try washing them once or twice to see if they lighten a little.

Yup, I got the wrong color. :punchballs:

These are much more like the 83-86 Canyon Red, and are definitely too dark for Scarlet (which we of course call something else ;) ) I really want these to match, so it's been a very costly mistake. I ordered a set with the correct color, so these are now available for anyone who wants to make an offer (mods: if you want to move this to the marketplace, that's okay). My location is Brookhaven, PA, ZIP 19015.

I got the mats for the lighter red yesterday, and those are a MUCH better match for 87-88 scarlet than the first set. I'll be putting the maroon ones up for sale in the marketplace section in the near future.
