looking for validation on this Z28 Reply #1 – June 10, 2009, 01:30:48 AM There were a few companies making 3rd gens into verts in the 80s, but the only official one was ASC begining in 87 as far as I know.Edit: Here is a link from thirdgen.org http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/convertibles/517899-non-factory-3rd-gen.html Quote Selected
looking for validation on this Z28 Reply #2 – June 10, 2009, 05:56:35 AM They, as far as I know, are not a rare as the asc/McLaren Capri and Mustang conversions, but they are not all that plentiful either. If it's not an asc conversion, I don't think I'd be at all interested if I were you. If it's an asc however, they are quite nice and well engineered.Shiny Side Up!Bill Quote Selected

looking for validation on this Z28 Reply #7 – June 14, 2009, 07:11:49 PM nice car,, not sure on the 302 thing. Chevy 302 hasnt been around since early 70's.Even if its suppose to be a 305 and he fat fingered the key board, a 305 wouldnt be my choice to HO. Quote Selected

looking for validation on this Z28 Reply #11 – June 14, 2009, 09:54:37 PM Chevy called the 305 a 5.0, I had a '77 Monza with Chevy 5.0 badges... 302s were the HiPo Z28 engine back in the '60s and used a fairly radical solid lifter cam... Quote Selected
looking for validation on this Z28 Reply #12 – June 14, 2009, 11:52:17 PM 305 is a real 5.0. 302 is actually 4.9l. Quote Selected
