A lot of dirt cars near me do that trick, using the exhaust to create vacuum in the crankcase.  See it all the time.  One way valve plumbed into the collector, each header has one, going up to each valve cover.  Heard you get 8hp on a built 358SBC

Yeah, I guess pulling a vacuum helps keep the rings sealed for more HP. That's secondary for me on this build. I'm trying to get rid of blow-by pressure under boost and eliminate the PCV without sacrificing oil life at all. It's pretty amazing the Ford engineers did so well on the 2.3 turbo. One crankcase mounted oil separator tied to a PCV into the intake and a top of valve cover oil separator to the turbo inlet.  Works real well even with twice the boost of a stock configuration.

Geez...Jim quite abit done is a short period of time...It must be cool to live that close to summit....nice.

I work reasonably fast once I get started. I am slow to start though. I tend to think too much, or just drag my feet when it comes to tearing the car apart when it's running. I've been sitting on these heads for a year.

It is nice being close to Summit. If I am not in a real hurry I can order online and parts usually show up the next morning via Fedex. They are putting a Harbor Freight store in Streetsboro now. That will be nice for junk tools and some misc. supplies I use.

Injectors came today, catch tank showed up yesterday. Now I have all the last bits I need to get 'er done. I still have a lot of time to put into the headers/ hot side before it's ready to bolt on, though.

The two things I ever bought from HF....have already broken....cheap tools is being a bit kind.

I spent all day sanding and prepping the headers and hot side. Sprayed 'em with VHT Ceramic and installed them. Got the injectors in, hoses connected at the rear, all the wiring re-connected and the upper intake on. Bolted on the turbo and drain. Welded in the vacuum venturi to the downpipe. Swapped around the breather from the back of the right to the front of the left. That way oil doesn't slosh up into the breather under acceleration.

Done for today.

I decided to do a test and paint the crossover in stove black again to see if there is a difference in weatherability. (that's probably not a real word.)
