Thanks man!
I bought the bird not knowing much about them. I figured since it was so close to a mustang I could figure most of it out but what I didnt know is there is no aftermarket support for these cars! Which sucks!

I know what you mean. I went through 5 sets of headers trying to get one to fit correctly until I figured out that Cougar's have bigger motor mounts then Mustangs. That's one thing I like better about Chevy. There less difficult to work on & you don't have to buy special tools just to do it.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]1988 Cougar XR-7. My parents specially ordered this car with every option accept leather seats in 1988. I bought it from them in 1998 & since then have installed American Racing wheels (still have factory mag wheels in boxes), ceramic coated headers into dual Flowmaster 50 series lers with single into dual stainless tips, 4 row radiator, B&M Transpak, converted to Mass Air with cold air intake, etc..

No one likes him. Stick around for a while. These cars are decent.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

there's hardly any aftermarket support, but that fact keeps the uninspired away from these cars. =P gotta have love for em and appreciate em to be willing to put up with em at times.

:flip: @ you guys!

Idk who said it, but I haven't found the car hard to work on really.  It's much nicer to work on than dad's 85 TA.
