WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! i told him i lost my job, and im trying the best i can to finish up the car, and get it out.............. Im screwed because im broke.... and have NO other place to put the car.......... im so FU**IN depressed guys........my pr-paid phone broke.......... i have no job..... and now i cant have my COUGAR!!!!! They may understand and ask the officer to back off. The most important thing is that they leave your car, because it really is your life blood here. My guess is one of your neighbors called the cops and complained about the amount of vehicles. Your best bet is to find out who it is and really try to please them. This will all work out dude. I realize you lost your job, I lost mine in December (Day after christmas even) and have been unable to find a job since. Times are hard but it WILL get easier. You need to do whatever you can to keep your vehicle on YOUR property by whatever means necessary. Quote Selected

Clean up your front yard.2. Install A gate.3. Make the cars look like they are assembled.4. Put for-sale signs in them with a fake number.5. Clean up the back yard and junk the Saw-Cycle.The neighbors will probably back off if they see you clean up some. Save up for an 8ft picket Fence. Also, while your at the station, (politely) ask what law you are violating that he can "tow vehicles out of your backyard." Most likely the officer lives in the neighborhood or knows the person who keeps calling them in.I Say "most likely can't do that" because it depends on the city ordinances and if they have to they will find a way to do it. Eg, "your car drips oil, so heres a ticket for illegal dumping of oil." Some cities and even more subdivisions have weasel clauses that can let them ticket for just about anything they determine to be untidy. Quote Selected

Reply #26 – May 08, 2009, 01:29:11 AM I remember one time we were spray painting the stripe on our rv, the olds was in the front yard for 30 minutes before a donut muncher gave the warning.But we had a 7ft fence and a winnebago keeping him from seeing the 78 chevy van, my tbird, and my buddies porsche just chillin in the back lolBut like danzajax said, get a big gate and fence. then make it clear they cant come past the sidewalk without a warrant. Your girlfriend's bro's car needs to leave. He needs to keep that on his property, because that is not helping the situation. Think what is most important here is that your neighbor is the one who is calling you in. He is more than likely upset at you for a few things and has "Had it" with it. Yes, he is being difficult but going over and being a friendly guy and asking if he has any sort of problem with you working on your car in YOUR backyard is hurting him in any way. Try to come to an understanding that you are just a young guy who just lost his job. If he is a nice guy he will understand, if not he will more than likely blow you off and call the cops again. As I said, you need to go down to the "Cop shop" and talk to the highest up person you can so that you can get an agreement worked out. Reply #29 – May 08, 2009, 11:01:25 AM most states have a provision for hobbyists to have an unregistered vehicle on their property. here in NJ most cops and code enforcment people don't know anything about it and they use the town ordinance about unregistered cars to try and summons you. You should try to contact a hot rod club or other car club or Cruise Night organization near you in MA to point you in the right direction. you can't possibly be the only in MA with unregistered car on your property. Maybe try getting one of those car ports from costco or walmart if you can se some cash together. I have mixed feelings about visiting the police station- unless you get to speak to someone who genuinely CARES- it could make it worse. Quote Selected
