Reply #62 – May 12, 2009, 05:49:24 PM Thanks evryone for youre kind wors and reassurance.........Tomarrow morning we are putting the car on the road, and insuring it....IM sooo glad my stepdad is such a nice guy (sometimes).. ive been away working in the car for a couple hours yesterday, and finished up around 10 this morning.... I was so suprised when it started up..... i got a new distributer cap, and rotor,...... and i donty have that clunk anymore!!!!!! the old cap and rotor, were sooooo old... that the rotor was actually just barely touching the contacts on the cap.....it was all burnt looking.. Anyway the car runs sooo smoothly.... i put new valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets, new p/s pump, and i got rid of all the smog stufff,(pump is still there)(pipes connecting to heads are blocked and welded)...And fthe a/c is all gone..(compressor is still there but does nothing.....) QUESTION: At the part store the guy asked with or without a/c...... Will the no A/C belt fit with everything but the A/C compressor??????Ill go pull in the parking lot tomarrow, and exchange the belt if i have to....... I really dont want to have a useless pump on the top of my motor!!I dont mind on the side.... thanks again guys!!!!!!! Oh and i didnt get the job the guy hasnt had enough business lately........(i never even got to go down there) But this guy i know,... is trying to get me a job working with him doing refrigeration........P>S>ILL GET PICS LATER!!!!! MasscougarXr7's H.O. Conv./ engine bay "spruce --NEED iDLE HELP!!!!! Reply #66 – May 12, 2009, 07:29:11 PM I think you can bypass it with a "short belt" but m not sure what the length for that is. You could also keep the longer AC belt and get an AC eliminator off of some early NON AC mustangs or order the ac eliminator kit eventually. Try contacting some of the local unions out that way. work should be picking up and maybe you can score a job in one of the trades. the carpenters local should be somewhat strong out that way. laborers union, pipe fitters, tin knockers masons are all good trades to think about and the unions all have apprenticeship programs. Im in the worcester local (107 carpenters) but usually work in Boston. Generally all you need is reliable transportation and the willingness to work hard show up everyday and learn.Just remember, regardless what life throws at you it will work out. losing a GF can feel like the worst thing ever but time heals and something better will come along. Always take some time to think about shiznit that may be happening you and afterwords, it wont seem so bad. Any day picking daisies rather than pushin' em ' is a good one. Quote Selected
