Tranny problem?? March 17, 2009, 09:57:54 PM I have been thinking of buying this 95 t bird,(I know, not a fox:mad: ) and the guy says the tranny will shift fine in 1st and 2nd, but in 3rd it will just rev up. Anybody got a ballpark idea as to what it could be? Quote Selected
Tranny problem?? Reply #1 – March 17, 2009, 10:21:48 PM According to Baumann http://www.becontrols.com/ourfaqs/aodetroubleshoot_1.htm , that AODE probably has some burned out clutch packs. If it simply wouldnt shift out of 2nd then it could be a minor problem....but if it...."shifts OUT" of 2nd, and jsut free revs without moving the car at all...sounds like some stuff is roached. Just change the oil/tranny fluid when necessary and it will last. My previous cougar was an mn-12 had 99,000 miles when i got it, and i put it up to 247,000 without any problems, still running strong when I sold it. :D Quote Selected
