i have heard of people using greyhound to ship large items but they have to be picked up/dropped off at the stations on time. very cheap though.

I've had good luck with Con-Way on heavy iron like you mentioned. They're at: http://www.con-way.com

I am going to check out http://www.Freightquote.com though as $90 for a rear sounds like a really good deal. Thanks Jerry!

When I lived in Biloxi, MS, I shipped an entire engine for $70 at a freight company (I think it was called) ABF or AFB or maybe EBF. Something similar. They have green trucks with tandem trailers. You just need to pick it up at the terminal. It saves a ton of cash that way.

Freightquote is a collection of all trucking/transport companies and their shipping prices for the same package.
of course I picked the cheapest. LOL
Mine was for 1 day delivery also.
The guy will call you from freight quote also. you can get a cheaper rate if you haggle with him a little bit. (He's looking to get your business).

Mike, the more you ship, the better the price gets for you. I think his name is Bob

yep,,,,,,,,and ABF or Yellow.

ABF recently shipped me several battery stacks for 3300.00 two day.  These were East Penn UnigyII battery stacks (2000AH) from the PA plant to Cambridge Mass.
