It took my youngest boy to discover this ,,, i was amazed at the whole idea.

32 eh??? Well they ain't valve keepers, just about have to be the check valves inside a hydraulic lifter...

Oh that is easy, that is the check ball for the lash adjusters.

call me stupid or whatever but I had no idea that the ends of the push rods had an actual ball welded to the end. A sharp strike with a hammer and they come off clean.

I always thought the pushrod was a hollow tube press shaped and such as one solid piece. I did not know there were three parts to a pushrod.

Depends on what the design is as well. Not all are like that.

True, most shaft rockers use a cup on the upper end of the push rod... Those are usually solid shafts and the cup and ball are machined in place ... Anyway, since the ball is welded to the rod to form a supposedly "permanent" assembly, it was a trick question...

I was under the impression there was only one per lifter as seen here:

hmm it looks like a paper plate ,a penny and 2 bearings from the slide out ask tray,,,but then none of them would be engin parts...oooo wait the paper plate is used for a light weight breather cover ,and the copper is placed under an injector for when the fuel hits the copper it has a chemical reaction to increace fuel econimy.and the to meatle balls are placed in the breather and they swirl around to form a tornado to force air down the intake...good idea magiver
