It flows more air because it's different then the SO...lol...it fits the SO lower just fine, but the HO upper is cast with a larger TB opening and a much larger throat.

If the TB opening is larger would you have to get an adaptor for the air intake hose to fit properly?

Absolutely not, the difference is internal, not external...so you're all good for a direct swap.

Yeah, just shorty style headers from an HO...or aftermarket if you feel like it...if emissions legality is a concern, you can run a catted H-pipe from a stang or mark VII.  From those who have done this, they've said that the mustang flow tubes(pipe from back of h-pipe to ler) are too short...however, I used Walker stock replacement flow tubes and I had to cut them down a little, however I had 2 1/4" to 1 7/8" adapters to go to stock lers, so they add about 2".

Oh ok i have already done that...:D  it was  the first thing i did when i bought my car ( mustang shorties, o/r h pipe and flowmaster 40's) ive just never heard it called an HO exhaust :hick:
