5.0 hard water pipes under the upper intake?

What are they called? I seem to have a leak in one of them and am not sure what they are called in order to call about replacements.
Is it possible to use hi-temp hose under there or will it melt?
Thanks,
~Rich

I replaced mine 3 years ago; it rotted through.  This is a part I would not replace with a used one.

They haven't used salt on Long Island in a few years.....As far as the heater tube....age did it in.  If salt got up there I'd have other issues.

Wow at $89 For a pipe I will check hoses first. This happend 30 mins before I had to go to work so I have not had time to look to see what it is for sure. But I saw it was leaking on the intake so I am pretty sure that it is the pipe that is leaking. I may have to use a hose for now and replace it when I can afford it. Hell with christmas coming there is not much money for repairs.....I am sure everyone is in the same boat as me. The water pump just set me back too.... ugh....

Why not? My car has had the same one on it for 21 years and three different intakes ;) I've never seen one that's rotten, even in salty Chicago.

Re-using one you've had on a car recently is one thing.....I meant one from say a salvage yard or that's been sitting around for a long time after previously actually being used.

I would apply that same rule to certain other parts as well.  Water pump for one ;)

Well I had a pin hole in one of the hard pipes. It was a small one so I used a tube of stop leak. It sealed it up. I know its not the best fix in the world but for under $3 before christmas is the best bet for me right now.
After the holidays I will fix it the right way.

Stop leak is bad stuff. If your radiator is marginal it can stop THAT up for you also.

Next time, for a small leak use BLACK PEPPER.

It really works. It doesn't dissolve in water, and the flat flakes will gravitate to the leak and start stacking on top of each other. The water pressure will hold them there and stop the leak.
