So, she runs...

Most of you saw this thread...http://foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=16560

Where I thought I was having sensor issues and whatnot.

Well, this morning I went out and grabbed the battery to throw on the charger and decided to re-check my firing order for the 5th time.

Turns out, I hate the firing order correct, but going clockwise on the distributor the way a chevy would, which is what I'm used to....
:hick: :burnout:

She started right and up ran purrfect...

I'm happy as ever, and if anyone wants to come down to Florida and :beatyoass:, feel free to:shakeass:

So, she runs...

Well, incase anyone cares...-_-
Awhile  ago, I went to the track, ddin't run due to a slight oil leak, 1 mile from the house, normal driving, rod knock.
Sooo, blocks out, front clip is off, have an HO shortblock going in and I'll be throwing me E7's on, maybe getting em ported, we'll see.
Hooker headers are going on (Can't beat free) along with a H-pipe.

That'll be it, other then a shift kit and gears later on.

You have no idea how many 5.0s I've seen run for years with a rod knock. It's funny how it doesn't kill them right away.......

Ehh, it motivated me to do the swap.

Only go fast goodies for this period are Hooker Shorties and mustang H-pipe.
Anyone hear anything about running a 5 speed computer on an auto?

Tomorrow I am picking up my block early in the AM.
Goal: to atleast set the engine in the bay, I do have to prep the bay so I can't just plop it in and be done in 5 minutes. IF, I get the engine bolted onto the mounts and onto the transmission, I will be exstatic. That would only leaving, wiring harness, heads, transmission crossmember, filling fluids and welding up the new exhaust and that about covers it.

Wow, some time has passed since I last said anything...
I didn't get the block on 12-28 like I said, when I woke up that morning with a 103 degree fever, my body didn't want to function much:hick: and the block wasn't done anyway.

Well, I've been told it's done and he will bring it by on wednesday, I hope so, I need her running now that I've found a job. Same goodies, headers and de-catted mustang h-pipe, I alreayd have my 91 DA1 computer and 19# injectors, so I'm good to go.
Today consists of cleaning the engine bay and sweeping some leaves from around the car so I can move my  engine hoist around and some painting in the engine bay along with maybe a little bit of paint where I removed my pinstripes.

I had a slight knock at idle... Had an extra motor and decided to throw it in while I get a new transmission. 4 of the rod bearings were messed up...

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Well, it's been a bad night for me.
It's 11:06 and still no block...
Atleast I got to sit down and talk with my ex-gf, still love her, was quite refreshing.

Umm, I got the tranny back up on its crossmember, and degreased the engine bay, a/c compressor, and power steering pump...

...I wouldn't be able to drop the motor in since I broke my tranny cooler lines and have to run new ones, but I'm tired of this run around about getting my block...
