I would bet his block is in pretty good shape. He gave some top end parts out of it, and they looked brand new. Looked like you where smokin the wheels on the dyno.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

I just found out that the MD dyno that I was on reads about 12% lower than the Dynojet dyno. I wish I had been on one of them instead....530rwhp@5400rpm sounds so much better!!!

I have been looking around at short/long blocks. The ones I want are way too much money. Looks like I am going to be looking for a used block or I'll have to see if mine can go to .040 over!

Had the head checked and all was ok. Looks like bottom end issues. I had an idea that was the problem, but didn't want to accept it.

Cylinder looks ok. I'm going to try to pop the piston out with the engine still in the car.

With the subframe member you put in you might be able to pull the pan. You may need to raise the motor a bit.
I'll be going bye sat. if you need some help.

Thanks. If I can get out there tonight, I am going to give it a try. It looks like I will have to lower the steering rack. The tubular k-member has plenty of clearance to the oil pan.
