Thank you! ive been waiting for some one to say that for ever.

i went over to look at it yesterday and the oil pan is under the motor but its just there. the steering rack i off the post and all over the place. i can see the flywheel, and the iginion will turn without a key. if i didnt have the title i would think it was stolen.

what gaskets will i need to put the oil pan back on? he said something about a front and rear seal? what esle is worth my while when im under it? timing chain stuff? what all should i do there.

thank i want to start doing stuff today.

I dont know about your situation but when i tried to bypass the AC and just run the power steering it wouldnt work the tensioner pushes the belt down onto itself at the water pump. If you relocate the power steering pump it should work or use a delete kit. i went through 4 belts trying to get it to work i had to give in and just run it over the AC compressor

Clean It!!!
Your view of it will change, trust me...
Doesn't look all that bad.

White looks horrible dirty. Just be sure to use some good paint cleaner or bug and tar the entire car.

i can get a dis assembled 426 with most all the front acc. and a carb for 100.

should i do it? if i do how much can i get out of the 5.0 and then is it worth putting it in the bird if im going to sell it. i was thinking it would be a selling point ar i might not be able to sell it.  then i need a tranny. then i have to do exuast. then i need to get a bigger radiator.

if i do the swap it will be a budget/ rat rod built car.

Would you be willing to trade that car for the one seen in my Signature? It is a sport right?

Why do ya wanna get rid of your car now?
Not to put down HIS car, but hell man, you had a nice TC, that you sold for the V8 car...don't make another mistake.
Older cars like these are gonna have problems...simple fact of life.
If I was lucky enough to find a TC like you did for what was it, 500-some dollars...I sure as hell wouldn't have gotten rid of it, and I don't need AC either. Yes, I know you're in arizona, but in case you didn't know, it gets pretty  hot and muggy in missouri in the summer, too.
If I was you, I'd try to find a a little fwd car to putter back and forth in, while making the Bird more reliable.
Like mine right now, it has a hole in the oil pan, and needs bushings for the susp in the front, but I wouldn't trade it.
It's not about what it's worth to me, or what I can get for it, it's the fact that that car is part of me.

what would i have to do to take off all to ac stuff? i dont think it works. it is just going to be in my way.

Remove the condenser, lines, and pump.  To run any of the A/C eliminator brackets currently on the market you will need a power sterring bracket from a Fox 5.0 Mustang.  I run the Ford a/c eliminator.  The pic at the bottom is intended to show the new location of the power steering pump.  I'm not sure the pic does a good job showing it though......

As far as big motors in these cars, there have been a few 460's and 429's.  There is even one dude on here who has a T-bid with a Caddy 500 in it.  His user name is Cad-T-Bird 500.  He hasn't posted in a while....

Anyhow, wash and wax the car and get a setof matching rims.  She'll look much nicer....

Huh...nice :birdsmily: Sport project!  I can think of a lot of things you can do with it.
The first one (obviously) would be to hand it over to me.  :D I'd gladly take it off your hands and build it for myself!!

The second would be to yank the S.O. motor out and build a nice H.O. motor to go in it's place, along with a 5 speed and TC rear-end.  It's definitely a nice base to start from right where it's at!

Third...stuff a BB under the hood and have a blast with the thing!!

Now...Get to building!!!!
The future...
