C5 lock up torque converter

Hi, I was just wondering, do all C5s have a lock up torque converter? How can you tell if it's working? Thanks.

Lockup converter is what makes a C5, if it didn't have lockup it'd be a C4, those were discontinued in '82...

It should have a extra shift(so to speak), may be rather mild compared to other gears... If lockup is working, RPMs will drop around 200 when it engages... Also in lockup revs will only change as vehicle picks up speed, no "flare" in RPM on light throttle as with a C4...

What goes wrong with them? Dunno, never owned one(or a Ford 3.8)...

Ok, thanks. I don't have a tach, so I don't know exactly what RPM I am running at, but I've never heard or felt anything that would resemble it locking up.
