88 T-5 question

I am going to look at some parts and the guy has a project going and i figured i would ask around and try to find out.  when using a TC T-5 transmission from 87-88.  with a SBF bell housing swap is it possible to convert it for use with cable clutch?

Yeah. You can use a cable clutch with a TC t5.

You'll need a probe pilot bearing for the smaller input shaft though, in case you didn't know. Most any decent auto parts place has 'em, or can get them.

If you're rear gear is gonna be very steep, you'll not like first gear in the TC's trans though...it's deeper than a v8 T5.

I'm pretty sure the TC pedals won't work for a cable clutch, so you'll need pedals from an '86 and older TC or XR7, or a Fox stang.

That you'll need a cable is pretty obvious, as well as the bell, and the clutch fork.

Whew! Think I got it all in there :D

The trans has nothing to do with the clutch actuation.  The bellhousing does.
