Inflation is crazy

My $400 car that sold for $900, is now up for $2000!

Funny how much people think stuff is worth now days. Kid I sold it to wanted $600 for it about a month after he had it.

Doesnt look like anything has been done. Guess they fixed the cooling system issue. Miss that car but Im glad its gone.

I felt the same way about mine.  I paid $800 for it, put brakes on it, drove the shiznit out of it and grenaded a diff pin through the tranny case.  Sold it for $500 to some hillbilly who took off the 16's with good tires and put 14" chrome wheels on it.  Sadly enough it was the fastest, most powerful car I've ever had.  But a bitch to maintain & fix.

First night back in the Cougar was a shock. It was loud and sounding nasty all the way out of the drive way. Then I rev a little, shift to drive and easy into it, then smash it. I literally looked at the floor to make sure the pedal was going down right. Disappointment.

I would buy another one if I could. That one just needed too much.

I think my favorite thing about the one I had was the secondaries opening up around... what is it 3200 RPM's?

Somewhere right around there. I had to really slam 1 and 2 in that car unless I wiggled it back and forth and hit the right spot just right. All that meant was I felt I needed to shift fast which lead to going fast, it was fun.

Cant really say too much about the guy asking 2k though since I was too. I really didnt want to sell it then which is why I was asking that.

If my memory is correct it was around 5k.

DVP- That is quite a ripoff for that car! 200K miles half is primer for $2000? This is crazy, I got my 91 SHO MTX with around 190K for $750 around 4 years ago and it didn't last very long. Those SHO motors need the underside redone when they get that far along in mileage. I know mine spun a bearing at 199K miles. I then bought a Gen III SHO but it was no where near as fun, and worrying about the cams failing wasn't worth it. I keep telling the wife if I found another good SHO MTX for a good deal it'd be mine. I did find a Grand Prix GTP a few months ago and I was impressed but I miss having a manual still so I still search for a good Gen I SHO (Good luck to me right?).

Almost all the SHO guys around here are Gen I. I really liked the Gen II before I had one. The Gen I really grew on me after that though. Still like the Gen IIs a lot. I want another one bad

I always liked the fact that the Gen 1's looked like a stock Taurus to the untrained eye. The Gen II is pretty obvious and the Gen III any joe schmoe would pass off as a Taurus base model if he didn't know any better. When I had my 97 I got alot of "How'd you make a Taurus sound so cool?" and "Almost sounds like it has a V8!". The comments after you told them it was a V8 was pretty funny in most cases. I had bought a lost cause basket case car and it wasn't worth saving once it spun a bearing but I'd love to find another.
