Missing o2 sensor? May 19, 2009, 01:26:15 PM New to this web site, new to the forum, but not new to trying to keep my car on the road. I'm just a Mom - driving boys to ball games and such. Have a '88 T-Bird. I had someone scan it and was told I needed to replace the rear o2 sensor. Got the part, got the car up on blocks, but now the problem is I can't seem to find it or a picture of where it should be online - Any ideas? Thanks Quote Selected
Missing o2 sensor? Reply #1 – May 19, 2009, 02:53:09 PM Engine size? There is no rear O2 sensor in these cars. There should be a sensor in the exhaust manifold for each side of the engine, provided you have a V-6 or V-8. Quote Selected

Missing o2 sensor? Reply #3 – May 19, 2009, 03:40:17 PM Yep one in each exhaust manifold. Should be on the top rear of each exhaust manifold. Quote Selected
Missing o2 sensor? Reply #4 – May 19, 2009, 04:01:24 PM If you know the code that was scanned it will tell you which side.Unfortunately getting an 02 sensor code doesn't necessarily mean the sensor is bad. Quote Selected

Missing o2 sensor? Reply #6 – May 21, 2009, 04:37:01 PM '88 V-6 Thunderbirds only had ONE O2 sensor. I believe it was on the driver's side. Quote Selected
