Tranny or not?

ok...i'll try to explain this the best I can.  I have an '86 Cougar 5.0 with AOD tranny.  Finally got the engine running right but now the tranny (i think) is acting up.  Once i've been driving the car for 10 mins or so, I hear and feel this buzzing noise.  It comes and goes, and I can feel the vibration from it in the column shifter and gas pedal.  Stuck my head under the car with it running and I can hear the buzz coming from the kickdown cable / shift rod area right next to the tranny.  I can't tell if the buzz is coming from inside or outside the tranny.  Would love to jack the car up to get a better look, but once I park it and try to jack it up, the noise goes away.  Anybody ever heard of this?  The tranny still seems to shift fine (maybe a little quick) but I want this corrected before it gets worse.  It seems like the buzz is getting louder as time goes by.  Thanks for the help!  :disappoin

Mine did that right before it died.Make sure your throttle valve cable is right.

Mine (c4) was making a horrible groan/buzz sometimes when shifting from 1st to 2nd when it was cold (-20/-30C) but its gone now that it warmed up, I just pretend I never heard it and keep my 'spare' tranny on stand-by :P
