quick questions

between the HO and SO intake plenums, only the upper is different correct? replacing the lower would have no hp gains?

and would everything on my SO, as far as the TPS, IAC, etc. bolt up to a HO TB? or would i need to steal all that stuff of a mustang?

any precautions with the swap anyone could give me, or things to watch for when picking a intake and TB from a junk yard would be appretiated too.

The upper, throttle body and EGR spacer are the difference. The sensor and all are still the same.

I still have all of that here if you want it, along with the HO cam. Give me a call some time.
It's Gumby's fault.

I swapped out my engine for an H.O last year, but on my project car,I'm just swapping the intake, exhaust, heads, injectors, computer and cam. That should bring it up to H.O specs....minus the forged pistons. It shopuld just take the day, then I'll be all set until i find an ultra cheap Explorer intake. If you can get the cam,and a computer from either a Mark VII or a SD Mustang, get after it.You won't regret it.Good luck on your swap.

I thought I'd read somewhere that the 88-up (or 87-up) 5.0 SO got forged pistons as well?  I wanna say coolcats.net, but I could be wrong.

On the theoretically plus side, sticking with the SO pistons means that you'll actually have slightly higher compression than an HO motor, no?
