Heater hose pulled OUT

Don't ask me how or why, but today the heater hose pulled out of the firewall. Not the rubber part but the brass part. I was told it pulled out of th ecore itself. Right now I can't afford to put a new core in or do I have the paitence to do it. So is there a way I can buyapp that and just run a "loop" of the hoses back to the water pump? Like a 180 turn back to the water pump? If anyone has any better idea's let me know

yeah dude just get a brass piece with barbs on either side, connect the ends of the hoses attached to the heater core with it. it will, yes, be a closed loop. you wont have any heat obviously but that won't hurt the car.

you could even pick one of the two going to the core, yank it out of the car entirely, and connect the remaining hose back to the now exposed pipe on the pump, connecting the pump back to itself.

somehow i think that is un-understandable. lemme know if it isnt :flame:

Don't forget the hoses are different sizes; 5/8" & 3/4".
You may need an adapter of some type to connect them.

Heater cores are a pain to swap, but when you do it,use a quality piece. No .That is something you want to do once, and call it finished for good. It's not so hard if you've doone it once before.Try to find someone local who has done it to help.

if you are not or dont plan on ever having A/C again,, just hook up the hoses to those two fittings.  Be warned,,,,, you will have more heat than ever before and in every posssible position you select.

Thought that's what WD40 was for... Maybe they don't sell it in CA???

Did that on a old '67 Falcon Wagon years ago.... Seemed the heat was either nothing or 200*, had to ride with the windows down in Jan...

Well, a few things first. 1. I don't plan to drive it in the winter. Heat woulds till be nice. 2. The AC was laready ripped out when I got the car. 3. How exactly should I do it. Fix core now, bypass it....? Can I just pulg the hoses ( I know thats probally a no) and if I do the 180 back to the punp, should it be pretty with fittings or just rubber hose. Also on mine it branches off to the Egr spacer?, do I have to connect that too or leave it off?

Honestly, Mike, since you aren't driving it in winter, I would bypass it for now.  No one likes doing a core change in the cold.  That's when I've had to do all mine and it sucks.

Yeah I guess I can. I'll probaly just end up with rubber hose with an adapter on it to round it back to the pump. nothing sleek and shagy but it will be done. That will be tomorow after my interview or later tonight. Haven't decided

loop it back with any old piece of pipe that is bent in a 180 or just hook directly up to the two fittings that are suppose to be for AC.,,id hook it up to the ac just to make sure you atleast have heat incase you need the car.
