What does the XR7 need, and what motor was the LS to begin with? If it was a 5.0, get a junkyard 5.0. I really don't see alot of reason to throw a 4 banger in a car that didn't come with it, just to sell it. Even if it was a 3.8, those are all over the junkyard and would be plug and play.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

5.0L....  easier swap and they sound great too.  turbo fours can make decent power, but sound gay.

Fix up the LS and sell it.

Take your profit from that and fix the XR-7

Good thought if you already have the parts and can do it in a weekend or two but you probably won't get enough extra money to cover what the XR-7 will need.

After reading subsequent posts on the XR-7's condition, now I'm torn on what to suggest.
"lol.. because not too many people care for that style of car"

it was a 3.8. The Xr7 runs good, shifts great. It just has high mileage. Im sure some stuff is worn out. 200000+ miles. Paint is shot (but I paint) and some dents and a taillight. The seats although ugly colored are in good shape and most of the stuff works. I hate the buttstuffog dash though
