HOW-TO: Remove Dust Shields/Splash Guards from Spindles.

Did this the other day on my SN95 Front Spindles (Finally got em'!).
Figured i would make a "Picture Guide" for the heck of it. And also since i could not find much of any info on the procedure via google, which was quite odd to me.

NOTE:
These are 94-95 Mustang Spindles, But the procedure *SHOULD* be the same for Fox spindles.
You dont NEED to do this at all.
It's purely up to you if want or "Need" to.
For me~I have 13" Cobra Rotors i will be using (splash guards are too small), And they were just plain in bad shape.

Step 1:
Grab the spindle with the Dust/Splash Shield you wish to remove~

Front/Back of retainers you need to remove:

Step 2:
Grab a BFH and a Punch/Slim Metal Rod~
roughly as big in NOTE: I used a Large Bolt to get the pin flush, Then used the smaller diameter punch to push it the rest of the way out.

This is what you end up with~

Step 3:
Grab a powerful Drill (Drill Press would be great here), a 1/4 Drill Bit and lube (I use WD-40)~

Now from the backside of the "stud" on the spindle, Drill down into the center of the protruding nub (Makes a nice drill guide) and go all the way through~

NOTE: Don't forget to lube up, It Helps!

Step 4:
Grab a 4/32 Drill Bit~

Then repeat STEP 3.
NOTE: Just grab some pliers and yank off the nub (or smack it with a bfh) if it did not come out with the drill.
You should end up with this~

Finnished Product:

I will clean this up, And add some other info later. :burnout:
And sorry about the low res pics, Tried out a seemingly nice 3.1mp compact camera i picked up for $5 at the thrift store.
Also wasn't sure where to post this...

For some reason, I thought my Fox ones were bolted on?  Maybe it was because my car was old, 82 Mustang.

You know, I couldn't find the fasteners on my fox shields, but I didn't bother to take the rotors off. I had to remove the big nut that holds the rotor on to remove the control arm, since I didn't have the Torx bit needed to remove the caliper and I needed just a bit of play in the rotor or the arm would not come off.

Long story short, I just shattered mine, since they were plastic.
