new centercaps - need help

Center caps for my wheels aren't available anymore but I found something that would fit.  They could use some help in the looks department.  Any suggestions on replacing the design in the middle with something more appropriate for a TC?

What are they made of?If they're plastic, here's what I would do.....Using thick tape,I'd mask of the entire cap except the round center part, then,I'd get my Dremmel and smooth out the circle in the middle that is housing the "A".After getting it flat in the middle,I'd fine sand it and smooth it with some fine wet or dry sandpaper (sanding wet and taking care not to damage the surrounding chrome that is masked of.After the smoothing of the center is done,I'd have a vinyl graphics place make some cool inserts (round of course) or,order some nice center cap inserts from Ebay or wherever to stick in the middle.I have seen Cobras, the Cobra "R",and more. One could get the Thunderbird "Bird" and an R combined,or The Bird and the words "Turbo Coupe" under it.The ideas are limitless.I know the sanding and smoothing may take a little while, but, that's what i would do.

If the sanding and smoothing flat the center doesn't work for you,one could always just use some filler of your choosing to fill the "A",smooth it,and then apply a new center emblem over that.

The vinyl graphics can be made by any self respecting vinyl graphics shop. That's where I got my Thunderstang emblems made that I designed for my car.I drew what I wanted, they fine tuned it,and I paid $10.00 and walked away with my graphics.

no kidding. :rollin:  or maybe debris from the latest Transformer movie.

I got them despite the way they look because they fit.  Mandatory modifications required.
