Fuel pump always on....

I read in another post that it is not a good idea for the fuel pump to run 100% of the time. Mine does. I get py gas mileage.

These 2 related?

anytime the ignition is on, the pump should be running, or it will starve the engine of fuel. (unless you mean that the pump is running even with the ignition off, then thats a different problem) and the py gas mileae is unrelated because any fuel not used by the engine is returned back to the tank.

if it's on without the ignition on, prolly be the relay, eh?

it's not on unless the car is on. I just never heard the pump run while the car was on with my newer cars. i just pulled a slew of KOER codes tonight and have my fair share of other things to check to solve my gas mileage issue.
