Title: What's the diameter of my exhaust?
Post by: t0x1k on December 09, 2004, 09:59:24 PM
I'm buying a purple randy ler to replace my rotted out poor excuse for a ler by the end of this month and bolting it on and sealing it with exhaust leak caulk stuff. Is the exhaust on a 87 3.8 2" or 2.25"? I'm guessing 2.25" I can't really get an accurate measurement.

if you're not sure. you can always use good ol' math.. measure the circumference and divide by PI (3.141592654).

Poo, well, actualy, that works out. The ler probably won't be long enough to fill in where my current ler is. I'm going to have to buy adapters from 2" to 2.25".

If you're replacing a stock ler with a straight-through  your tailpipe might not line up the right way.

Yes, if you want to use the stock exhaust they you will have to use an 18" ler with offset inlet and offset outlet.

Aw, , you're right, I totaly forgot about that.
What am I going to do? I really want either a red hot or purple hornie...They do have raptor turbos, but I dunno...
What can I do? Anything?

Ok, what if I removed my ler and added a peice to span where my ler used to be? I don't know if pep boys carries pipes that are bent to the specs I need... it to hell. I really want those lers because they're 18" long, the raptors are only 13"...

I found the cherry bomb oval lers online, i gotta check with autozone and pep boys to see if they carry it or can order it. I saw pictures of it and it has one side with 2 outlets...am I seeing double?

If you get a dual outlet you'll have nowhere to run two pipes.  If you want a cheap turbo-style ler just get one from summit.  $15.
