cougarman,
I'm with you.  Mark Martin is my favorite and has been for a long time.  When I began following him, that was the car and paint scheme he was driving (I still would rather see Valvoline on his car instead of puppies).  I think the car is done rather well, but it's definitely not for everybody.  You'd have to be a very die-hard fan.  I'd rather see that car than the Earnhardt-replica Monte Carlo's (sorry, Dale!).

As much as I think the Nascar replica painted cars are cool, this one doesn't quite work for me. Everything is all wrong.

First off that paint scheme didn't look exactly like that until 1996. He ran something similar in the Brickyard in 1995 but not quite the same.

Second, that style number 6 was not used until 1998 when they moved to Taurus' and he had a different paint scheme.

Lastly, it's wrong for that year bird. On an 87, it should have been painted like his Strohs car that he raced that season.

Attention to detail makes them really cool but I think this one is just okay.

I've been a fan since about 88-89. I met Mark once in 1992. I was 7 years old and it was at an auto parts store somewhere around Baltimore and there were next to no people there. I got my picture taken with him next to his show car and I also got to sit in the showcar. I got a bunch of autographs and some other free stuff and being as I was 7, it was the coolest thing ever.
I got to meet him again in 1999 but by then he was so popular that the scenerio was to stand in line for 2 hours walk up, get your autograph(1 per person) and leave. I didn't get a decent picture or anything.
I also met Jack Roush at the shop for the 99 (was Exide) car in 1998. That was cool.

What I meant by "silly" is that all that NASCAR stuff, inaccuracies or not, shouldn't really be on a V6 'Bird.

I agree although it's still better than a 1975 Camaro I saw that was painted like Kyle Petty's 1992 Mello Yello Pontiac. That was a sight.
They should all be V-8's Unless it happens to be painted like a Busch car from that era until 1995. I think '95 was the first year they put V-8's in the Busch cars. Before that they were V-6's.
Now a 92 Super Coupe painted like Mark Martin's Winn Dixie Busch car would be awesome.:D
