landed this new job at a shop puttin graphics on cars, and the owner is a BIG TIME hot rodder, and he knows his shiznit big time. anyways, i asked him what would be a good hp gain for my 5.0 bird, and he said this edelbrock kit thing-a-ma-jig. he said with the heads (and he went on and on how they are so good, way better than gt-40 and some others ive heard of) and the cam (even more talkin) said would be a garenteed 100 bolt on horsepower!!! he said he would sell me the stuff and put em on for 1100 bucks. i kno he knows his stuff, rode in his street nova today... WHOA. pulled a wheelie everytime, and wasnt even trying. showe dme a video of him atta track doin a 172 foot wheelie :ies:

Edelbrock sells a power package that includes heads, cam, and intake I think. THat's probably what he's talking about.
Yeah, a few places have passed 400hp NA on a 302 with a couple boltons. I'm curious about that $1100 price though, sounds like a decent deal - labor and all included
I hate to bust your bubble....
But if your new found emloyeer is going to get you any where near 100hp besides the heads, cam, intake, etc., you'll need a mass air conversion (computer, MAF meter, wiring), larger fuel injectors, larger throttle body, headers and a free flowing exaust system. Also you should have a decent set of rocker arms.

but, saturday i MIGHT get 3.73's put in. sence i dnt have the tools, or the knowledge, he said parts and labor 300 bucks to put em in. good deal? bad deal? lemme kno!
yeah, not to mension anytime you match everything like heads intake and cam, its going to be better than tossing the most popular parts or the most expensive single part on.
ARG!!! i woulda been so much happier just having a 600 hp motor come in the tbirds from the factory :(
