wonder how a supercharge 3.8 would like it if you installed the 4.2 crank/rod/piston kit in it?
more torque :D
power stroke SC :)
Most of what I've seen written on it seems to indicate that the cast 4.2 crank wouldn't live long under an Eaton (roots) blower. I tend to agree since Ford started the 89 SCs with a cast crank and quickly switched to a forged unit. Not sure I've seen anything posted about anyone actually trying it though....
Lots of info (conjecture?) about it in tccoa.com and v6power.net....
it should last, as long as you dont run too much boost, most engines, even the weakest hold up to 6psi, ive seen cases where stock N/A 3/8's have run 12psi
humm,, wonder if that blower could be mod'd to watch over a 5.8 :)
Here ya go... Sc Bird (http://www.toohighpsi.com/SCTC/sctc.htm) :)
i was checking out your cardomain site,, any new pics? im hoping to get an 84 console some day. I like the cougar center cap for your steering wheel,, i think i remember you having a hard time finding it.
Thanks, sorry no new pics, been going kinda slow for awhile. (hint hint $$$$$) :) Yea I was thinking of an older console, but the two I have are missing some of the tabs that the trim fastens to. You wouldn't beleive how hard it is to find the XR7 horn button!! Been looking for a long, long time. Then one day walking around the junkyard and spot a Cougar, go over and check it out, and it's what's left of an 88 XR7. (mind you, not much left) look inside and whoo hooo the Cougar horn button :) :) , so I grab the dash trim, taillights and the elusive horn button. Completely made my day!!!
i got an 84 console in the basp00get, doesnt quite fit right in the 85-88 interiors
as for the horn button, i have one...guess i never saw your request
Tbird232ci, you have an XR7 horn button? You want to part with it? Just let me know if you ever do, I might be willing to take her off your hands.
Jim
i wouldnt mind parting with it, i actually have too many parts (according to my parents) and most of them are cougar parts, go figure
Can you e-mail me at woltmanjd@hiram.edu? I'll stop hijacking the thread now.
