Title: carbon canister purge solenoid
Post by: jcassity on April 03, 2018, 07:42:16 PM
do i really "need" a carbon canister purge solenoid?

if yes, i need to source vac to it and then install.

i dont have one, just wondering if its really all that big of a deal.

I am in search of a v8 carbon canister because the 6cyl i have on hand does not match to what the v8 would be like.

thanks!

If you gotta pass emission inspections, yes. If you don't then, don't worry about it. A lot of people just use a little carb filter for they don't smell any fumes.

I should have read your post better. It looks like rockauto sells them.

they do,, and i apparently got one on a spare 88 full eec/engine harness.  Since 88 s unique with its own evtm,,, i decided not to graft this harness into my 87coug resto project, so its going to be useful for someone else one day.
